- Internal layers – 50mm mineral fibre with fibre cloth and separated from the duct system by a perforated galvanised sheet steel.
- Acoustically tested according to ISO 7235 norm.
What is an Attenuator or Duct Silencer?
- Known as either an Attenuator or a Silencer
- Attenuators or Silencers are installed into a HVAC system for the purpose of reducing noise transmitted inside the ventilation ductwork.
- Although they are reffered to as Silencers in the HVAC industry, it is important to note that they do not completley silence noise.
- Duct silencers are commonly installed on intake and discharge sides of a fans or air handling units.
- To enhance the attentuation of the sound created in the duct, a longer length silencer can be used.
